Laptop LCD conversion kit available?

Postby AmEv » Fri Nov 13, 2009 5:56 pm

Anybody know where I can get a kit that converts a laptop LCD into desktop computer use? The connections seem universal (video and CFL)...
I'm gonna get my new hardware. And my worklog here.

That is going to be DYI. I haven't seen any so far, probably because that connector still is not universal.

I've seen it done before, using a laptop screen embedded into the side panel of a case, rather than a window. Been a long time since that was done, though, I'll see if I can remember enough to track something down...I do remember it required a custom-built voltage regulator, laptop displays use far less power than desktop units.
Faster than the speed of snot

and for the million hours that we were....well I'll smile and remember them all, then I'll turn and go....

Well, it would be cool if I could put small LEDs in place of the CFL. Tube's years old. So....
