I said I was gonna do it. Now I'm doing it.
What you ask?
This. I am going to put a mATX board in this case. Ain't she a beauty? On the outside, anyway.
When I got it it had 400MHz IBM, DVD-RAM drive (which needs fixing ), 0 RAM, 4GB HDD, dead battery. So I couldn't even get it to turn on, even with a wire and fresh coin battery. _________________ I'm gonna get my new hardware. And my worklog here. |

sorry, no pics (yet).
However, there are a few difficulties.
First off, the standoffs. None of them match. So they're all in the way.
I would like to reuse them; however, they were special-riveted on. So they're headed into the bin.
Another problem: With the positioning of most boards, the RAM and optical drive are in the same area.
So I am either going to get a slimline drive or one that doesn't go so deep.
Like here:
Third thing: There is a plastic part that helps in the case staying shut. However, it flowed around the standoffs. I would have to either carve around it or leave it out altogether.
I'll try to get pics (of this) as soon as I can.
However, I have made progress.
I have taken the old standoffs off. They are about the same height of a regular standoff, so I need to find some.
I have taken the G3 stickers off of one side. Why? They're going onto another case.
I also found out that the mounting points are the same with the PSU. So I have a PSU in. 250W, 17A 12V rail, I think. _________________ I'm gonna get my new hardware. And my worklog here. |

eBay has full computers for sale.
Maybe we can have a competition of who can make the coolest case

You could go for the bling. I could go for the as-real-as-possible look. _________________ I'm gonna get my new hardware. And my worklog here. |

OK, fixed the RAM/CD bay problem; now it can shut. Also, I'm putting the shorter drive in (as seen in the pic)
Got the batteries; time for pix!!!! _________________ I'm gonna get my new hardware. And my worklog here. |

Well, currently, I'm working on the back for the faceplate and such.
Now to save enough for the P4 board.
Gotta find the camera.... Man, kinda frustrated.... _________________ I'm gonna get my new hardware. And my worklog here. |
