In the text the card is compared with 9600, 8800, etc but in all benchmarks it's compared to high-end cards! Isn't that a bit unnecessary? It's not exactly news that twin 9800s or a 4870 is faster...

What I'd like to know is how it performs relative to the competition!

I'd love to have every video card on the planet to test, unfortunately, I'm limited by what I have on hand. I understand the comment, and we'll try to do more comparison testing with similarly priced video cards. One thing to note, pricing on video cards is ever-changing so one card may be higher one month and lower another. That led HardOCP for example to release an article comparing a HD4870 against a GeForce 9800GTX+ head to head. Not saying it's right but we do the best we can with what we have.
