Hello,
I am currently working on archiving information for AST Computers LLC (1999-2001), a computer company founded by the ex-Packard Bell CEO and Samsung after the fall of AST Research Inc. There is not much information about this company and models on the internet in general. I am trying to locate and confirm the various motherboards used by this company in the product lines as well as locating documents and media dealing with this company. I am currently working on a motherboard ID guide and want to make sure if this information is correct below. Thanks.

BCM IN440EX/-D (Premmia GX)

BCM IN440ZX (Bravo Series)

BCM IN620 (Bravo Series)

BCM IN810 (Premmia GL)

Intel SR440BX/ZX (Bravo Series)

Intel SE440BX-2 (Premmia PS)

Intel GS810 (AST 100/Century City 100)

Intel T440BX (Premium 1000 Server Series)

Intel L440GX/+ (Premium 2000 Server Series)

evasive, those models you have listed are for models manufactured by AST Research Inc. The ones I have listed above are for AST Computers LLC. I want to confirm if my findings are correct and if there is proof that these are the correct motherboards being used in these machines and with the AST OEM, as some of these boards also match up to Sony and Toshiba OEM

well that is perfectly possible. both Intel and BCM board were used by a wide range of OEMs. I'll see if there's another way of retrieving the info for you.

One I got directly:
OEM version of Intel GS810 (AST 100/Century City 100)
https://www.wimsbios.com/forum/motherbo ... t2417.html

Found a review:

Board layout (page 43) is an excellent match for the IN810

I'll see what else I can dig up.

One question though, where did you get this information from so far?

There we go and we are now heading on the correct path. Thanks for confirming some of my findings. I did years of research and archival on this company for many years now. I wonder if there are any special markings or numbers or revisions/changes to the AST OEM boards made by BCM/GVC and Intel. I contacted BCM and they have not been interested in returning my replies to confirm what boards were used by AST Computers LLC as they worked with the company to manufacture these boards back in 1999/2000. Here is my archival project for more information if anyone is interested and I am still actively working and modifying it.

Ah another OEM finding project. I have some info on my pages, Toby B was having Compaq pages online but had to let go because of life coming in between (I still want to publish that stuff some day) en then there's things like this:
http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/index.htm

I see this one is now offline so I need to check if I have it complete:
https://web.archive.org/web/20180416181 ... /vaio.html

So, you're not alone in trying to save information for later generations. I'll see if I can dig up more info/confirmation of what you have found so far.

Found a list of system names:
http://www.computer-specifications.com/ ... s/AST.html

The information in the links is pretty useless but it does give an indication of possible system names. I see you have the "Bravo 300" system in your files, that would be the Bravo 350MX and the Bravo 350PS I think.

Ordering AST Parts
Please read the following carefully!

Please Note: InteliSol, Inc. is not associated with AST Computer. AST Computer is no longer in business. InteliSol at one time provided warranty support for AST Computers, but now only provides a static web site (http://www.ari-service.com) for informational purposes. We also have limited quantities of selected OEM parts available. Please do not use the following order form for technical inquiries. There are no technicians at InteliSol trained to assist you with technical issues on AST computers. For answers to technical questions, please visit http://www.ari-service.com. Please check the box below to access the form for ordering parts from InteliSol, Inc.

Ok, that explains that name in the story.
