Attempting to ID a case more then a mobo.

I have a D955XCS mobo. BTX form factor. Intel chip set which I believe was made specifically for Dell.

My original plan was to mount it in an old Dell 9100 case I have. Also BTX.
However. The 9100 is a mid-tower and too small. Not tall enough.
It does not allow the holes on the mobo and mounting tray to align.

Would very much appreciate any info or links pointing me to locating a proper full tower BTX case that will accept this board.
Be it OEM or aftermarket.

There are cases to be had on ebay that may work. Case price is cheap. Shipping is not.
Do not want to spend the $$ on what may turn out to be only good as a boat anchor.

Thanks

I could not see any full size BTX cases on sale in the UK. It was a lame duck pushed by Intel for DELL to shift propriatary computersrs so you would have to go back to DELL/Fujitsu-Siemans or HP to replace certain parts (mainly case and in a lot of cases PSU). At the time we were all ingformed ATX is dead. Well it isn't, just the whole PC stuff is going extinct in favour of phones and tablets! (Who knew that would happen).

Good luck on your search.

Thank you Mr T.

Going to try another direction.
Have seen posts that my current mobo, OEM in a Dell 9100, will run with 8G of RAM. 2x4
I had tried 4x2. The BIO`s saw it. Win7 64 did not.
Then on a restart it BSOD`d.

If 2x4 does not work then I am going to start a search for a Dell 9200 board.
It will run 8G. Though can not find info on whether that is 2x4 or 4x2.
As well as a Quad 2 Duo. Which I already have lying around.

I love messing with the Legacy stuff.
But can be very frustrating.

Dell would have in-depth specs on all its products.. but you may have to search the archives for some models. Any item more than 5 years old goes into this 'dungeon' of info.
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/ ... 00/manuals
For more than 10 years since issue, maybe only on another site such as http://www.elhvb.com/ or http://stason.org/ .
