In the past I have always used stand alone printers, scanners and fax machines. I have been filling the ink tanks for years. None of them ever quit on me over all these years I have used them but having switched to A Windows 10 x64 computer will not allow me to use them.

I bought a HP 5740 all in one and it works fine, I really like it BUT there is something the scanner does not do that the old HP flat bed scanner did and that was being able to scan a document directly into Microsoft Word. Tried contacting HP about this nut can't get through to them. Kind of reminds me of Dell a company with no face IMO.

Proper driver set for the OS version? Does Windows know of the unit's features?

A lot of older printer/scanner models no longer are compatible to Win 10.
