Copy or Image of a Fresh OS Install

Postby meppwc » Sun Oct 09, 2016 8:09 am

My desktop machine is rather difficult to setup in the event that I want to do a clean installation of XP and all needed drivers for the applications that I am using.

But once I complete that task, and have the clean install complete, is there a way to make a copy or image of my hard drive so in the future if I want to do a fresh install, it would go much easier?

I have an external drive that I would like that copy or image to be on. And then from that drive, a complete fresh reinstall to my internal primary hard drive.

A clone of the OS and associated files would be best. There are some freeware cloning programs that should work well, as too there are pay-for better programs. A good plan is to update the clone as needed.
Good luck with finding all those hundreds of XP security updates otherwise!
