Hey guys it would usually be easy for me to find this info obviously using a manual and Asus website. But I cant find my manual and the Asus website for the M5A97 EVO comes up with PAGE NOT FOUND so I'm asking here if anyone has the same board and knows what I'm able to put into it.

I just want a list of the best AMD processors that this motherboard supports. Currently I have an AMD Phenom II X6 1100T black edition inside this thing. I'm looking to see what my upgrades over this processor would be and the best for gaming and overall use. I'm planning on getting a new processor and a new heatsink for it (a quiet one) so whatever you guys can recommend would be AWESOME! Life went on and I've kind of been out of the PC building world for a while now and don't know whats the best bang for the buck and what my options are on this motherboard. I have an old C9000 Zalmann Heatsink which still works really well....it's just REALLY Loud now ive had it for over 8 years.

Thanks guys!

Welcome to Motherboards.org.
Looks like that motherboard is around a 2011 issue. May be obsolete to some minds, but still viable to others.
Did find a CPU compatibility link from another source..

With the latest BIOS it will take the latest 8 core FX CPU... However, what you have is still very good and you will not really see any noticable increase in performance.. You would be better off upgrading the RAM and if you play games the video card.
