well, that's just 2560x1600. what I'm looking for is full 4k, which is at least 3840×2160. this is why it needs to combine both the dual link dvi ports on the gpu end into a single dp port on the monitor.
it very well may not be possible, as my searches have yielded zilch. but I have read something about using two dvi to hdmi adapters to get what needs to done accomplished, like evasive eluded to earlier. this is the second method I thought might be possible. less elegant than what I wanted... but maybe the only one available.
