IE8 Favorites

Regarding IE8 as used with XP Pro SP3:

The 5th bar down shows Favorites with a yellow star next to it. How do I not show this. I want to keep the Favorites button on the 3rd bar.

Should be able to right click at the top, and see a list of options to uncheck..

As far as having quick links, in FF I drag the tab down..

yeah, just right click anywhere in the grey area that doesn't have a button or words, and you should have a menu pop up and uncheck the "favorites" button.

The tool tip "view" has options for viewing of features. The 'favorites' tab can be by itself, or expanded.. but not removed. A Registry edit would be needed to make it 'go away'.
