Question on Ancient members

Postby rascard2007 » Mon Dec 15, 2014 12:49 pm

Is there any way to know who are the oldest members of these forums still active, say a top ten or top twenty list?

Likely it is privileged info to the Administrators. Some members have 'faded' into oblivion, due to being called to the Pearly Gates, or have taken other jobs that do not allow much spare time. Other members do visit now and then, who have been with the Forum for 10 years or more, when they find time in their hectic family lives.
But too, today's computers are not the same as years ago.. and the DIY aspect is not as inviting. Being "portable" with a smart phone or similar, or a Wifi tablet, is the trend.

To the right side of each thread, there is the date of becoming a Member, along with post count.. and maybe their location.

I think the Forum was created back around 1977.
As to 'personal' info, since this is a public access site, some personal user info should not be accessible by just anyone.
Too many security breaches on commercial sites and such. And now Sony Corporation is licking its wounds from a hacker.

"Oldest" members can mean either being here the longest, or actually "aged".
I have been a member since 2003, but surely some others are here longer than me.
But as to age, in less than a month, I will need to add another "notch" to my bedpost.. number 75.
Still in decent health, trying to recover from two bouts of Lyme disease.
Have been retired for about 20 years now. But trying to stay active.

I'd suggest it's not easy to identify 'ancient members', after all - why ?

The forums are a lot less active than they used to be, today's kids may not even understand why have a PC - after al they have their multi-core phones to surf the internet with and cheap, powerful laptops.
