Glossy Screen Monitor

Postby c327 » Mon Nov 10, 2014 2:13 pm

Hello all,

I would like to get a decent quality 19 to 21 inch wide screen computer monitor with good resolution and contrast ratio and DVI input that has a GLOSSY SCREEN not a matt. Have been looking around and it seems most sellers when refering to glossy screen really mean the bezel.

Contacted NEC (once a good company) and they told me they don't make any.
Any suggestions..............Thanks

Most users prefer a matte finish, which helps to reduce background images as a 'mirror' effect.
From a quick search, Dell, HP and Samsung do offer glossy screen monitors.
Some newer monitors with a touch-screen have a glossy face, better for capacitive touch.

Just my opinion: I had a couple of top performing NEC PC monitors in the past that had glossy screens and to me they looked more sharper, brighter and had more robust color than a top quality Samsung matte screen I had.

Yes in an office setting I can see where a matte screen would be better with all of the overhead lighting there but not necessarily in a home. NEC no longer makes a glossy monitor :(

Interesting reading. To technical for me to decipher, but did read it all. I go by the end result and that is what I see and some times I don't even know if I should believe that. :o
