I have the "Log Me In Automatically....." box checked. Today when visiting, I was logged out. User name and password were on log in page, I clicked log in, and received "Incorrect User....." error, and box to log in automatically was unchecked. I have not deleted cookies. Re-entered log in info, and logged in.
I have a photographic memory, only problem is, I ran out of film.

Win 7 Home Premium, latest Firefox, cleared nothing, but started having some screen jumping issues. gonna run some malware scanners. I did log in on one of my Windows 10 laptops to post an update.

*Edit* Ran SAS, MalwareBytes,CCleaner, and Hijackthis. Nothing found.

I remember seeing something similar here (Win 7 Enterprise 32bit, Firefox almost-latest as I hardly ever logout/close browser) after a FF update, without the wrong password error though. I will keep you posted what happens after the next FF update.

As with passwords, user names have to be parsed exactly as registered. Incorrect upper case or lower case characters can mean "wrong user name" errors. Yes.. been there!

FWIW, the screen jumping issue referenced above; I disabled "Aero Peek" and problem went away.

You're welcome, but it's back. It's a Firefox issue, and bug report issued. Not happening in IE.

Go into Firefox Tools/Options/Security panel. That is where all passwords and user names are.
Expand the box, and show passwords. Delete the existing user name and password entries causing problem.
Likely Firefox wanted to 'update' the data, and now it is in error.
Have a similar problem getting into my Email! Buggy!
