About to start building a new computer online. New to the building process
and forums. First the processor I will probably want to use is the i7 970
Intel 6 core processor. Need help matching up the most efficient motherboard that would compliment this processor. I'm starting with processor and build around it.

Could I get some recommendations and advice and reasons the motherboard
would be optimal?

Thanks

That is an LGA1366 processor released in 2010. That generation is already considered obsolete. New boards are no longer made for this socket and existing ones can almost only be had through ebay or specialist(=extremely expensive) stores.

Recommendation: start with a more recent processor. Something like this:

Good thought, evasive.. with today's almost "daily" design and feature changes, look toward something that will still be in vogue for maybe another year or more.

I will be going with the 4930k processor. Now I need a motherboard that
will fully utilize the functions of that processor without breaking the bank. Also what are the major factors to look out for when deciding on a
motherboard matched up with a specific processor.

Thank You. I think I'm leaning towards the MSI x79a-gd45.
