Hi
Windows 8.1 Standard/ Packard bell Easynote TE Laptop
Just had to replace the 500GB SATA HDD .
Had to change UFEI to legacy in BIOS.
Created a Win8.1 DVD using these instructions http://us.hardware.info/reviews/3490/how-to-installing-windows-8-without-product-key. Which allowed me to install without product key (as that’s in the BIOS, & needed an install to recover Product key from BIOS using “pkeyui.exe, View product key in MSDM table”. Then able to activate.
Only one problem when installing from Win 8.1 DVD got error message” Error 0xc00000e9 There was a problem with a device connected to your PC An unexpected I/o error has occurred.”.
Finally solved it by booting from USB stick. Hope this helps anybody getting the same error.
Laptop works fine, but can only boot with legacy setting in BIOS.
Unable to boot with UFEI setting (“No bootable device present”). Just wondered if there is a way to correct this, or is it not worth bothering with.
Just remembered,
Pressing F12 at at boot for boot menu Brings error "no bootable device"
Many thanks
