While waiting for one PC to update, I thought I would mess with Ubuntu.. Distro Upgrade... So today is update day!!!

Seems to be de rigueur that an OS get "updates" no matter how new or old.
Just how many 'band-aids' can you put on an OS, before it has to be abandoned and totally redone?
And just what percentage of users have the equipment to accept all the features for GUI?

Well two of my PC's running windows 8 won't upgrade to 8.1 as the CPU's don't have NX (both s939)... Hey ho, just waiting for SteamOS to come out and test that one...

i'm really interested in steamOS...and their steam boxes as well. i'm hoping i get into their alpha/beta program for the actual boxes(while it's EXTREMELY unlikely).

i haven't had the chance to play on my parent's machines with 8.1 yet, but i'm expecting some improvements. been too busy with work the last few days to even give them a call to get their impressions!

ugh.

back to work.

Heard on the news yesterday (Monday) that M$ is recalling Windows 8.1 due to some major problems. Can't find any online articles about the problem, but might be serious.. or just bad code.
