|
|
Hi guys, it's been a long time since I last posted.
Anyway, I need a recommendation for a mATX mobo. I will be using this for my HTPC (and possibly a VMWare platform). With this, I will be needing the following specs:
- Intel Platform (i3,i5,i7), AMD will also do
- HDMI Port
- SPDIF/Optical audio
- Supports up t0 32GB RAM preferrably (16GB would be the least)
- 4x SATA ports
As much as possible, I would like to stick with Asus, ASRock, MSI, and Gigabyte since those are the ones that are largely available in our area.
I was looking at the Asus Maximus but it is quite expensive, if there is a more affordable one that would be better.
If you can recommend me a good HTPC case that will fit at least 3xHDD, that would be very much helpful as well.
Thanks in advance guys!
Cheers _________________

the Maximus is a gaming board, not HTPC/server. You may want to have a look at Workstation series of boards from Asus instead. _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.

I just wanted to clarify, I am not using this as a server, but I will be using this to practice with VMWare stuff, hence the amount of RAM that I needed. _________________
