That also depends on your video card, processor, how much memory you put in, what kind of disk or SSD so... what is your budget for the total system? _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.

I already decided for an AMD A8-6500 using 8 GB of DDR3.
What i am not yet sure is the graphics card and the motherboard. My last system was using a biostar board and until now i was quite happy. So I am thinking to stick with that, but switch to a newer generation.
What do you think of the A55S3?
As i am in the motherboard forum i was hoping you could give me some insights about what is a good match for that processor and my usage profile. Maybe here are some user experiences already
for graphics i guess some mainstream ATI will do fine. Generally I am thinking to spend no more than 300 dollars for both parts. |

Wouldn't a motherboard with on board graphics have more draw on the PC's CPU than if the PC had a separate video card ????? _________________ “Respect cannot be learned, purchased or acquired - it can only be earned” "Pay It Forward" |

just for the power, not for the processing speed, the graphics is done by a seperate section on the APU. _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.

look for the A75 or A85X AMD chipset, you will get more out of the CPU (or APU) with these.. BIOSTAR are OK as a budget board, but check out ASRock, Gigabyte and some of the lower end ASUS boards will suit your needs... _________________ I have been programming on computers since the ZX81.
