What's your upper limit?
From bios P1.50 it supports all the bulldozers (as far as I see).
For around £100 look at the FX-6 6200 Black edition (6 core 3.8GHz) or the FX-4 4170 (4 core 4.2 GHz), or even the FX-6 6300 (6 core 3.5GHz)(piledriver). You may need to update the bios for the piledriver, depends on which bios is on the board that ships to you, the FX-6 6300 needs bios P1.60. _________________ CALL &BD19 (If you need to ask you don't need to know)

Thanks for the good info, the Quad is more inline with my budget at the moment.
Can I get your thoughts on that board? I am open for suggestions, I did a bit of reading on that board and it looks to be what I want and at the right price. |

i'm happy with it... my only gripe was the original heatsink/fan i put on it was difficult to mount because of the heatsink covering the southbridge chip getting in the way... but the latest one i just put on there was fine. i have an old ebay chip in there, and this board runs fine with it, but i don't overclock it much.
i like the look of the uefi bios, and there's a lot of settings accessible there. it has been a pretty reliable board. i've had it about 5 months. i did have some initial fits, but that was due to a dying psu, and some bunk ram.
with cool-n-quiet on, this thing sits at mid 20's temp on cpu, and only gets up to 40 tops when folding.
there's 5 sata ports on the onboard controller, which i use in raid mode, but have all individual drives on. you can set one of the ports to do IDE mode, while the others are on ahci for whatever purpose you might need that for...
just an all around good board. i'll be on the lookout for a cheap bulldozer to put in it when those prices fall. _________________ my main rig...
