|
|
In 2010 I bought a very nice mini-box PC in China, by the name of HARNI V8, with Atom 330, 2G memory, 250G HD, wifi, 4 usb slots, hdmi, VGA, audio in/out, SPDIF, etc, and the most important thing a build-in DVD (later versions of Harni or other mini-PCs do not have DVD player at all ).
You can see how it looks like, in the following urls:
http://product.pcpop.com/000273678/Index.html
http://au.alibaba.com/product/405425722-Harni-V8-ION-High-definition-Mini.html
For some ugly reason, the MB got short-circuited and is beyond repair. For more than a year now, I tried to contact (through chinese friends knowing how to argue in mother language) the manufacturer in Beijing (Teket Innovation Technology CO), and other companies around China, with no success. They were unwilling to disclose details of suppliers, or help me get a replacement MB.
Since it is not working, I do not have access to any BIOS information. The MB on it has only some sparse markings, namely:
SUI ML-1, 94V-0, 0950
PART -08 VER:C
The chipset (?) is nVIDIA L905B133 0919B2
S TAIVAN PB8474.S00
MCP7A-IONB2
and the CPU (?)has the following codes on it:
Q842C222
SLG9Y
The MB is like a a mini-ITX but some research that I did trying to identify it there, was unsuccessful. You can see 3 photos of the MB here:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/75459488/IMG_0139.JPG

Can anyone please identify it, so I can try to find to replace it?
Thanks,

more like Nano-ITX
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:VIA_Mini-ITX_Form_Factor_Comparison.jpg
I fear you really need to rely on your Chinese friends there. The layout of the board is non-standard with those front ports and rounded corners = proprietary/special build.
It looks like the only option is to ask the manufacturer politely for a replacement board. Given they have a V9 out already there should be some overstock of the V8 left.
(Discs are going the way of the dodo... Both harddisks and opticals... It's all flash and download these days...) _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.

The company that "manufactures" them in Beijing is Teket, and I contacted them over the phone in the past without success. Well, with the info I got today from the moderator "evasive" though, I was able to dig further into the case (I am not that proficient with MB markings you see), that led me to the following websites:
http://www.teket.com/en/motherboard/motherboard.htm
and
http://teket.en.alibaba.com/productgrouplist-209756473/Mini_ITX_Motherboard.html#products
Running through them, I was NOT able to identify the MB of question. Can somebody (who has more experience identifying MBs) please look through them and let me know if the MB is in there?
I will try to contact Teket more decisively this time, knowing they have a website with their MBs.
Thanks for the help,

which is a list of _retail_ boards available from brands that have a retail miniITX or nanoITX board out there. They are not "manufacturing" but reselling stuff.
and
which is again a list of motherboards they sell seperately.

Key factors to look for: Intel Atom N330 and nVidia MCP7a chipset. They have 4 models matching those specs, listed here:
http://www.teket.com/en/motherboard/intel/ionn3m7a.htm
I checked through both lists to see if your board is in there. There's not a single one even having this layout.
Most likely this is a special design from the layout, the port location, the external power connector, no expansion slots whatsoever, just two places for the cards it actually needs on the underside and last but not least "PART -08" suspiciously sounds like it's only used in their V8 version of this box.
Now, for the other markings:
SUI ML-1/UIL/94V-0 is for the flammability rating:

Having found this company gives you a better chance on a replacement but even if you were to get a board seperately, chances are it will be the same price as a new V8 unit... _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.

the GBOX-SZ5002 outside is the spitting image of the middle harni V8 in here:
http://www.teket.com/en/minipc/harniv8.htm
It's possible they are indeed involved. Let us know how you go. _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.

... it looks that I got one last showcase sample remaining in this Teket Company in Beijing, and they are willing to sell it to me (either only the motherboard, or the whole box for a bit higher price). After a lot of trouble of this information (model, price, etc) back-n-forth with my friends in Beijing in the middle, it looks like I can have a replacement MB in a couple of months time!
Hope it will be the right one. You never know with the chinese!!!
I will let you know.

Yes, let's just hope it is the right board so you can start trubleshooting this one without fear for messing it up completely... _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.
