Should not be any special settings needed. But do set all control lines on the BIOS pages to how the system is configured. If there is a setting for modem use, disable that if not used. Same with audio or video features for on-board systems, if using a sound card or graphics card add-in. Set the controllers for storage drives as "auto" or "JBOD" unless setting up a RAID array. If using a USB type keyboard or mouse, enable the "legacy" feature for the USB ports. The default would be the PS2 ports. Otherwise, a keyboard or mouse would not be detected from USB ports, until the OS is active.
For the initial install of the OS, set the boot path to first check an optical drive, then the hard drive. After the install is solid, then set the hard drive as first choice for boot path. Only a DVD-type optical drive will work with the latest OS installs!
