Firefox has become so unstable I had to switch to Chrome. I'll go back and read the prior messages.... _________________ Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside a dog, it's too dark to read.

In what way unstable? FF is one of the most stable browsers out there unless you are using a beta version. _________________ I have been programming on computers since the ZX81.

It starts and then freezes. Or it takes a REALLY long time to open a webpage, especially one with animation on it. I keep upgrading (you know they have gone from ver. 3 to ver 14.0.1 in only a matter of maybe a year) which seems to mak the matter worse. _________________ Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Have you disabled all add-ons, there may be one the update doesn't like... _________________ I have been programming on computers since the ZX81.

| Or just do a complete uninstall of FF and reinstall it? Make sure to write down any usernames/passwords you have saved, addons, and export your bookmarks. |

I was having a similar issue. Web pages using Flash would not load/crash. I fixed it by uninstalling 11.3.xxx. and reverting to 11.2.xxx

What age is your computer, and what OS type do you have? If less than Windows XP with SP3, all previous versions are considered "obsolete" and no support is available for some programming. Firefox does have an 'older' OS version available at their site. As to Internet Explorer, versions prior to 8 are no longer honored also. You may have to upgrade your OS to a newer version, which will be actively supported by today's programming standards. 128-bit encryption security is one main reason.. hackers and spammers are another!
I recently had to upgrade my Windows 2000 Pro OS to Windows XP/SP3, or loose Internet access. The transition is easy enough, and you won't loose your favorites and other programming access. I have three active systems at my desk! Yes, Firefox is my favored browser. _________________ F@H.. to solve mankind's maladies.. in our lifetimes! |

Windows 2000 was a very stable OS version. Windows XP was a bit of an improvement (?) but mainly a 'new face'. Windows Vista was another "strange child" from the M$ enclave! Windows 7 is the current standard, may soon be outdated by Windows 8.. mainly for its touch-screen features.
Win XP does have an extension of service life, until mid-1024.. providing it has SP3.
As to Firefox problems, I recently had several crashes on some sites.. and Firefox got crash reports each time. Otherwise, FF is almost always stable as a rock. Seems there is a new feature added, "plugin-container.exe" which Firefox uses to manage tool features and add-ons. _________________ F@H.. to solve mankind's maladies.. in our lifetimes! |

There's way to many bits and bobs that need fixing. The way i see it XP good, Vista bad, 7 good, 8 bad, windows 9 the next one to get. _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.
