what do you want to do with this computer?
a 600-series nvidia card is somewhat of serious investment at this point still...
as for the ram, go big or go home. it's cheap, so grab it while you can.
other items will have more bearing depending on what your intended use is for the machine.

I just wanted a fast and fairly quiet machine. I use it for torrents, music browsing and if no ps4 then I will for sure buy the graphics card. If i do buy the graphics card do you recommend any additional fans or a different motherboard?
Thank you |

if you're just using it for what you have listed, that video card is drastic overkill. for comparison, i use my PC almost entirely for playing games - and i have a 560ti...displaying 1600x1200 with most eye-candy turned on. that 600-series card costs twice as much.
your case listed comes with fans, and i would expect them to be plenty.
that CPU cooler i actually have, and does a great job of keeping things cool.
unless you're doing some heavy graphics use that you haven't mentioned, i don't see a reason to get anything above a 560...you'd probably get away with a much older card enough. my 260 is capable of running games on my machine with acceptable performance. it more than handles anything i would do with 1080p games, web browsing, video-watching, etc...

i think you'd do better going for 2X8GB stix of ram... it may cost you a little bit more off the bat, but you'll be able to upgrade for another two in the future. running windows 8 should see a bit of improvement with more ram, as it is supposed to have much better memory management than win7.
and the graphics is overkill... go for a 500 series nvidia, or 7800 series amd card... you'll be happy, and save a bunch of dough. _________________ my main rig...

Im not trying to sound like a smart but can you please help me understand how the 600 series is different than the one you have? it would show better graphics correct, or am I missing something something? I play a lot of first person, and sport games(bf3, cod, fifa)

600 series is better, no doubt... if you want to spend that much money, go for it. there's just no midrange down cards on it, yet. your only option costs more than $500, and they are hard to find.
your best current option is something mid-range in the 500 series or better, something you can readily find.
right now EVERY 600 series nvidia graphics card is out of stock at newegg. _________________ my main rig...

Do you guys have any other motherboards in mind? Also, if I go with the 600 series is there a specific monitor I should look into getting?
thanks |

if you're putting the money into a 600 series, then i would hope you won't go cheap on the monitor. something like a dell ultrasharp or similar. don't grab a $120 22"+ monitor...it'd be terrible to output high-end graphics to a budget-grade monitor.
