Two cards for now
Joining in with the rest of the AIB AMD partners, Powercolor has also announced its own Radeon HD 7700 series graphics cards. The card is based on the 28nm GCN architecture Cape Verde GPU and Powercolor has decided to stick to reference design and clocks for now by launching only two cards, one HD 7770 and one HD 7750.
Powercolor Radeon HD 7700 series graphics cards pretty much stick to AMD's reference design and are clocked at 1000MHz for the GPU and 1125MHz (4.5GHz effective) for 1GB of GDDR5 memory for the Powercolor Radeon HD 7770 graphics card and 800MHz for the GPU and same 4.5GHz for 1GB of GDDR5 memory on the Powercolor HD 7750 graphics cards.
Sticking with the reference design is a pretty clever move as, according to reviews seen so far, AMD's reference cooling solution is quite good and keeps the temperatures at bay without too much noise. Another good point of the reference design is that the HD 7750 graphics card is sticking to single-slot design, rather than dual-slot seen with other partners.
We are pretty sure we'll see custom HD 7700 series cards from Powercolor pretty soon.
