Chinese Motherboard

Postby cesera » Wed Jul 20, 2011 1:31 am

Hello,

I have a motherboard that was bought in China, I am now trying to work out if there is an updated BIOS, as I am having some problems with a new SATA DVD drive.

The BIOS ID is: 1/23/2006-C51/MCP51-6A61HM49C-00

On the motherboard is written:
* Made in China

* P & Q
0607 CM-1 94V-0
E162264

* L-NC51Q

I can't see any other markings that seem motherboard related. When I google the L-NC51Q code I get a lot of Chinese websites (which I can't read).

If you can help me identify the board I would be very grateful.

Thanks,

Kees

K8N5GM is used by QDI for type number. The bios string has M4 which indicates MSI as manufacturer. And there's an indication a board like this was used inside a Lenovo system. Right, let's see if I can make something useful out of this.

For now it sounds like MSI has whiteboarded something to QDI, Muse in China and Lenovo.

Latest I have seen so far is 5/10/2006 so 4 months newer. Keep hunting.

Something called Fengxing K7080A seems to be using this too. They seem to be linked with Lenovo in a weird way...

The board is indeed in a Lenovo machine. Any idea how to track down BIOS updates for this thing?

Thanks

Weird question. Did you try the Lenovo website?

Not such a weird question, should have thought about that.

Just did, but can not find the machines model (D3050A) or serial number (NS04487650) on the English websites. Just struggled through the Chinese website, with the help of babelfish and google, it does know the serial number, but I get stuck very soon after that.

Thank you very much, I much appreciate it. However if you are busy with other things, it is not as urgent any more: I have finally managed to get my SATA Drive to work. Turned out to be a power supply problem.
