Weird Router problem

Postby R for Republican » Tue Mar 16, 2010 3:20 pm

Okay I have a Linksys, A+G Wired\wireless router. 4 wired connection ports.
Systems using the router. Main pc, a product scanner ( Sends information to the company). My pc, and a xbox 360.
So, The 2 computers and the scanner all work fine. Then i try to plug up the xbox, No connection. Swapped the ports\cables around to the pc and xbox. One works fine while the other doesn't. So for some reason when all 4 ports are being used.. one of (A) my pc, Or (B) the xbox won't connect.
Updated firmware. power cycled. any suggestions?

Are they set to the same IP address?

XBOX has a habit of hogging all the bandwidth.. One port is also an uplink for connecting to a switch.... So its worth getting a small 4/5port switch (very cheap now - mine cost £5 UK), plugging the switch into the router, then mess about with connections...
