The "Tea Party" is supposed to be bad?

Postby CivilDissent » Tue Aug 11, 2009 7:03 am

There has been much said about the "Tea Party" being bad, lately. I am speaking of the Conservative Movement "Tea Party". The media has made them out to be crass, screaming, threatening, angry mobs who have no point but to insult Obama. I ask, what are the media, and others, so afraid of.......the truth?

I am currently watching, on CNN, the town hall meeting in Lebanon, Pennsylvania between Senator Arlen Spectre and Lebanons' citizens, it is quite interesting. For one, he rarely comes out and answers any questions. He would rather make a joke or just turn to the next person and not even give the previous question a second thought. Many extremely good points are being made by the crowd but they do not seem to matter. It is quite interesting if I do say so myself.

One thing that really gets to me is how the media portrays this type of instance. It is made out to be some sort of lynch mob against the congressman hisself or herself or even more a lynch mob against Obama himself. I ask again, what is the media afraid of? Why are these meetings not covered, live, by other stations? Are they afraid that what happens in these meetings will truly come out and reveal what is really going on and not what the media portrays?

My last point is that the media makes the "Tea Party" out to be a Conservative movement and that liberals have never done anything like this, I beg to differ in the strongest of terms. I have been a member of MoveOn.org since about April of 2008. I joined MoveOn.org not because I agree with them in any way but because I wanted to know what was going on behind the lines and not being revealed to the public. I have never supported any of the their movements or thoughts, let me make that clear.

MoveOn.org has, and still does, organize rallies/parties/movements, such as these emotionally elevated town hall meetings all of the time and the media supports those to the fullest. MoveOn.org supports, and even pushes, people who breakup Conservative/Republican meetings and get togethers, to the fullest extent yet I have never heard the media mention them. How interesting, don't you think?

No, there is no equality in this country as the liberals are scared of what might happen if there were.

Well, while Hillary Clinton was saying it'sa citizen's Responsibility to dissent, apparently that does not apply to those currently dissenting against recent and proposed leglislation.

The noxious practice of pushing for vote to pass leglislation that has not even been read is getting tiresome to everyone - it is as if our elected officials will vote to agree to whatever might be in a bill without any knowledge of what the bill actually will do...Promises have been broken:
- "pass the Stimlus bill NOW or else Unemployment will drop to over 8%", well it passed - and unemployment is well over 10% and may yet rise.

The Media is generally willing to support whatever comes out of the White House - and not actually discuss actual merits or points of controversy.

In fact - if you seem to be disagreeing with the 'Official' platform, you are a racist, nazi, gangster and should be reported or perhaps placed into 'Re-Education Camp'. China has been unable to control their own media any more tightly. Dissent at risk of any remaining freedom...

The main problem might be as simple as inability to mobilize dead and ficticitious voters that may have made for a sufficient public vote... Meanwhile ACORN is still enjoying not only Tax-Exempt status, but also is getting Billions in Real Estate and other 'Stimulus' Grants, seriously - no contributions to ACORN should be allowed as tax deductions. And the Government should never subsidize any partisan group...which looks more and more like the Media (MSNBC seems among the worst).

Now Obama is now taking his message to our schools. Like I have said, Obama is trying to take the "A" out of America.

What you're hearing is an ad hominem attack, a disinformation campaign created by a government that has lost its fear of the people and that is startled to find itself facing great masses of those pesky plebs who deign to publicly opine that freedom is good, Marxism is bad and government is the problem, not the solution.

When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. --Thomas Jefferson

I agree as well. My own sister, in her infinite Liberal librarian wisdom, can't give me a good reason for all this........not one. Of course, she's one of those that supports every lost cause ever brought up. Funny thing......no Liberal I've ever met has a) been willing to civilly discuss our views, and b) even knows half the time what they're screaming about. I'm sorry.....I just can't defend a group that calls people who don't believe in their views names reserved for Nazi war criminals and the like.

Note..........that's not a general insult to Liberals everywhere. Some views are good, and bear listing to. But I really take offense to being called a gay bashing conservative Christian facist simply because I don't support a bizarre same sex marriage that gives rights to them, that it doesn't give to traditional marriages. Argh.
