I've heard that the latest version of XLiveLess disables both the Social Club and Games For Windows apps, but I'll probably leave it alone first to see how it really runs.
There seems to be a huge disparity in performance insofar as specs are concerned. You hear about some users' problems with a Core i7/GTX260 combo, while another may be using a "subpar" X2 5000/HD4650 and playing it fine on modest settings.
I'm hoping that "subpar" hardware will allow me to play the game like the many videos I've watched on YouTube. One user had an old Allendale Pentium DC at 2.2Ghz with a low-ball HD4550 and was able to eek out a playable framerate at low resolution.
Since my monitor is an '01 with a max res of 1024x768, may I have the same luck that he did.
