Anyone having problems with PS3's Life not able to connect to server?

While the data transmissions may be of a standard protocol, the OS may encode them differently (language). That can be a real problem, unless using standard TCP/IP/FTP protocol.
And your true IP address has to be provided and verified. A "handshake" between any two devices has to be positive for communications to ensue.
There should be a self-test process to check for valid paths and ID status.
Some system types may have multiple uses on a single port, but only one service or device at one time. Others may allow multiple devices/services on a single port. Try after ensuring that all previous links have been terminated. Game consoles are not as flexible as a true computer.
