CPU Temp varies by as much as 10 deg C while idle?

Postby mattr33 » Tue Jul 31, 2007 2:17 pm

The system is the one in my signature down below.

Now sometimes when my system sits idle, the CPU will be around 38 degrees C. Then other times it will be around 48-49 degrees C. The ambient temperature of the room is relatively constant (although when it does get up to around 48-49 C the temp in the room probably goes up a degree or two).

Cool and quiet is disabled. So I'm not really sure why I'm getting these drastic swings. Any ideas?

Only thing i can think of is if something is running in the background causing slight cpu usage.
