I'm all set for when it happens, I hope. The point value for 'standard' WUs has gone down drastically, since the *PS3 and *GPU processes were introduced. Some juicy points for a few still left, tho (3060, 3065).
If I got one of those "short" duration WUs, I would certainly let it run 24/7 to beat the minimal deadline.

I've been getting A LOT of tiny Amber's lately, they seem so tiny and irrelevant only needing about 12 hours to fold and offering between 70-150 points each. Is this related or is it something else?

Most likely sub-routines of other WUs. If progress of other larger units is identical in almost all steps save a few, then those 'irregular' incidents are separately disseminated. They may be keystones as to where proteins either go right or wrong.

Here's the info on the double bonus ambers.

Some new ones are about to be released and seeing as the project numbers go to 4699 we should see these for quite a while.

I'm churning these things out by the lorry load, but according to EOC I'm not getting any "bonus" points for them at all, just the stated WU points :x

Maximum point value is awarded if the WU is returned before its final deadline. Appreciated if it is returned by the preferred date, for faster analysis and collation. But no "extra" points. Every WU I have submitted is done within at least 25% to 40% of the alloted minimal time.
If a WU is submitted after the final due deadline, then points may be considerably less. The server has an official record of when the WUs were received.
