well we're all discussing it in a mature, intellectual manner; although porn itself is neither. the porn industry however is quite an interesting business. other entertainment industries only give a hint of sex or sexual innuendo when selling their product, while porn showcases purely sex, and in every position with any type of man, animal, vegetable or mineral that can portray 'kinky' sex. i myself am a fan of good ol' american Girls Gone Wild though, and shy away from anything too kinky.

i love SP the show, couldn't stand the music in the movie in theatres. i try to have an open mind when I watch it though, and understand that most episodes have two political or social satires that are always HILARIOUS to see pictured in a small redneck town--my favorite one so far was the "red hot catholic love" episode, where Cartman taught his town to "stick food up my ass... and poop out my mouth" and it suddenly became a phenomenon and even Martha Stewart was shown shoving a turkey up her ass; and where the aging catholic church was dissected in to its truest, most homesexual, child-molesting reality, and also how it was shown to really be ruled by a Queen Spider that supplemented God in the Church. I hope it has many more years, as it seems to be getting more outrageous and politically incorrect each season.

Most things revolve around money in the "entertainment" industry, so sex and violence always sell. I think adults can either ignore or overlook the language, sex and violence in movies, TV, computer, or other media. But, can children? Can I compare the old Elmer Fudd shooting Bugs Bunny and having Bugs turn the barrel around so it shoots Elmer to South Park? I guess Bugs did have his share of violence, but not the nudity or language (not only cursing, but detailing sexual acts, beastiality, etc). Perhaps it reflects on our society as a whole, which seems to be degradading each day. Things I never even though of 10 years ago (morally speaking), are now a reality. You gotta wonder...

Well, would you prefer your kids watching hardcore porn, or watching excessively violent films? Would it really deteriorate their morals if they just watched something immoral happen?

If I compare the average kid on the street today with what I encountered ten years ago, that is a YES from me.

ESPECIALLY a cartoon aimed at children. It was pitiful. I know there will be some on here who like the show who are not children, but it is still aimed at them. I know parents who have bought the SP movies totally unaware of what they are exposing their children to. Is porn worse?? I doubt it.

I would just like to add that South Park is not in anyway aimed at children. What child would even want to watch a cartoon with such crappy animation. Kids today are used to high buget Disney animation. The show is on after 10 p.m. on Comedy Central. A Channel not known for providing children orientated programming. As for any parent who purchased an SP video for their child not knowing the content. Shame on them. As a parent it is your responsiblility to sensor your childs activities etc. It is not up to society as a whole to censor programming for everybodies children. The T.V. in not a babysitter.

such little minds,so whats better on tv,people killing each other, but sex no we cant have that, and porn is for the sick,a load of crap i tell you.when it comes to sex we still live in the dark ages,it all comes down to persoil choice!dont like it,dont watch it.sexual repression and religion have killed more people than any other reasion.i watch indie films and there is more sex in them than a soft porn flick, and it on ifc,reg cable,oh but that art,its ok.give me a f...g break!playboy and even larry flint have done more for freedom than anyone in thies century.so is it all good, well no there will always be the one who commit crimes in there name, and the funney thing is the goverment gose after reg people rather than rapers in the church.me i dont get into that kiddie stuff, and anyone that doas needs a shrink i think we should stop all this sexual repression, and help the people that need it.i always get a kick out of the people that are for roe vs wade but think the need to surpress porn, never got that!

Porn is great as long as we're not talking about mixing feces and other items... If its just sex, then whats wrong with that, the only reason people are so opposed to it and yet so focused on it is because its become somekind of taboo from sexual repression from victorian times. Sex is sex, i'm not talking about the adult industry here but just sex on tv which is kind of ofdf topic but still. Sex is great to watch on tv , whether alone or with your significant other. If i was going to have my kids watch anything, i would much rather have them watch two people having sex in some movie rather than some guy getting his toes chopped off with hedge clippers.

Unless we're talking about really hardcore/degrading/abusive stuff that can set deep in impressionable mids, sex/nudity is fine, its beautiful and we all do it i hope. I'm somehow anti things that degrade women but there is plenty of porn/sex that does not degrade a woman in any such way.

America is weird tho, the swedish started making porn, but now americans make more porn than any other country in the world, has something to do with the way this culture is and the way we have a lot of double standards. I'm not sure if this has been said before as i wanted to put my 2 cents in and didn't have time to read all of the posts. :D If it was up to me, we'd have quality sex education in school, something that explains sex to little kids, not makes them think its some secret thing they cant do, cuz guess what, people are gonna take that in and twist it into the weirdest things when they grow up.
