Hi, I have just installed a neew motherboard Asus P5VDC-MX, with a intel 3.4 cpu duall core. However, CPU-Z reports bus speed of 200 / rated bus speed of 800. Does this mean the board is running slow and I should fix it ?. BIOS doesnt seem to have any means of adjusting the FSB ?.
Very unsure what the reporting of CPU-Z means ?.
Anyway, I am sure someone will know ?. thankyou very much.

Surprised that no one responded to your question.
The FSB would have three stages.. a base speed, then a doubling for the memory bus speed, and another doubling for use by the CPU before the multiplier is employed. Part of the "quad-pumped" effect.
If a base FSB is 200 Mhz, then the secondary or memory bus speed would be 400 Mhz.. and the final FSB speed would be 800 Mhz.
Similar rules for 100 Mhz, 133 Mhz and so forth.
If the processor uses a 400 Mhz FSB speed, then memory speed would be at 200 Mhz.. and the base FSB would be 100 Mhz.
