SQL Scripts for Newbies

Postby meppwc » Mon Jul 23, 2007 10:09 am

I know nothing about SQL other than the fact that my peers occassionally provide me with a SQL script to run against our databases. I would like to learn how to write these scripts against our database and I am looking for a Novice level tutorial to get me started. Can anyone advise?

i found a SQL for Dummies book a while back that was actually pretty good... you should be able to get one at any large-sized book store, or computer specialty shops.

the above page is pretty helpful for really basic info, but if you want to understand more specifically to oracle instances you'll want to get an oracle book about queries and perhaps PL/SQL...which i find to be the most fun to work with.
