Where does the path code go?

Postby CivilDissent » Thu Jun 21, 2007 2:10 pm

I am trying to upgrade my phpBB forum to the next version and having problems.

My forum version is 2.0.21 and I wanted to upgrade to the 2.0.22 version.

I did everything successfully except one thing. Another phpBB forum said that I needed to change a path direction line from one version to another.

Where does the one line of script editing go?

I followed all instructions:

1) I disabled the forum
2) I downloaded the patch zip file and unzipped it.
3) I created the Install folder, in my host, and put it in my Discussion Forum folder where all of my forum info is kept.
4)I made sure that the update patch file was in my main Discussion Forum folder, on the same level as the Install folder.

Here is the catch though, somewhere in all of this I was supposed to go to a file, which one I have noooo idea, and edit a line to direct the forum from one path to another.

So, if anyone has done this before please let me know what I am doing wrong. I do not want to mess up all of the work I have done on my forum and I am about to pull my hair out! :x :-|

Some more info:

My host is hostmonster.com.
The site I was dealing with was phpbb.com but they are a pain in the gluteous and pretty rude so I feel more comfortable here.

They have a complete "explanation" of how to do this if you can read vague instructions so if you go there you can see instructions on updating phpBB 2.0.21 to phpBB 2.0.22.

I hope that is enough info as I am completely flabbergasted and about to pull my hair out.

Geez, I stand corrected, there are a whole bunch of php code writers/editors here. :D

I am confident one of these fine ladies/gentlemen can help me.
