Frustrating AMD socket fans.....

Postby CivilDissent » Mon Feb 05, 2007 9:55 am

I have used AMD processors for a while now but they have always had the stock fan. I finally ordered a Zalman for my new setup and realized, after trying to install it, that the cotton picking mounting bracket on AMD CPUs are sideways. Now, I cannot mount my Zalman in the direction that I wanted to, straight towards my 140mm case exhaust fan that is only 30mm away! It would have been a perfect airflow!

So, does anyone know somewhere that sells "mounting bracket converter" that will turn the direction of the fan 90 degrees so that I can get my fan going towards the exhaust fan again. :?

which one is it?
i had an arctic freezer that was like that. so i took off the stock fan, got 2 90mm fans as they were just a little bigger. then monted them as i needed them to be. 1 as an intake to push air through and the other as an exhaust to pull air out. i just sandwiched the heatsink in between the fans and used long bolts from the hardware store to mount them with.
