HP drivers and XP

Postby evasive » Wed Sep 13, 2006 9:34 pm

So, we have one DeskJet 970CXi where the customer wants to print in black/white by default, make colour copies occasionally from an app and keep an eye on the ink levels. This means three printers and two driver sets. One for the ink levels and the HP monitor thingy. You can't use these drivers to print in XP SP2 despite the fact they are listed as being XP drivers. No clue why. Use the built-in XP driver for the printer, set it's properties to print in black by default and make this the default printer. Now install the printer again, this time, do not change anything. Just take care of the naming...
We hate rut, but we fear change.
