I know some of you have requested a review on this board and here it is.

Greetings,

I am a relative newbie at this Mobo stuff, but i have been reading like crazy these last 6 months, so i am learning fast...

I thought the soyo was the ideal board, it has LAN, RAID, USB 6, and Cmedia 5.1 sound. But lots of reviews showed average performance, and i figured since I will use my new computer for at least 5 years, I might as well get an extra few % if i could. especially since i don;'t care to overclock at all.

In the performance tests, it does pretty good apparently, relative to the ASUS A7V333. But somethings i don;t understand as to overall ranking

The soyo is ahead in SYSMark 2001 - 194 vs 188 (+3%)
Behind in 3DMark 2001 - 7577 vs 7686 (-1%)
behind in Quake III - 165.9b vs 177.9 (-7%)

I have no clue about SPECviewperf, almost identical it seems..

so an average of all these, gives the ASUS maybe a 2% lead at best? practically unnoticable i think...

so how does the asus get a 13/15 when the soyo gets a 10/15?

something I am missing?

they both perform the same it seems, same sound, both have RAID.
the ASUS has no onboard LAN!!
but it has two extra USB 2 ports, which is convienence over soyo.

I am just confused why the soyo with its LAN, and equal performance, isn't a few points ahead of the ASUS?

cause i think i gonna get the soyo in a month or two, and i just don't want to leave anything to chance.

any thoughts?

if you check the review you can see how each section was scored for the board and why its score is lower than the ASUS board. We also provide links to our scoring and testing methods so you can exactly how it works out.

I'd like to buy the Soyo KT333 Ultra Dragon Platinum as reviewed... but I can't seem to find it (even when linking to "Soyo" from Motherboards.org's "Compare Prices" section). Does it have another market name?

Any chance of a review on the KT400 Dragon? Any thoughts at all would be helpful
