Hi All

i'm a complete novice when it comes to HTML but i am looking to make a website for a new runescape clan and i was wondering if there are any software packages that i could use to make the job alot easier.

i've heard of dreamweaver 5 but i'm looking for other good suggestions

you could try this http://www.nvu.com/ I have not really played around with it much but it looks like it could be a cheap alternative to a program like dreamweaver.

If you want true clutter free then go with a basic text editor and a good HTML book....

I use notepad and Crimson Editor for coding... The only clutter I get is what I put in. :wink:

I use notepad too! If you have Linux eMacs is the best! It colour-codes the code for you! Makes it easier to see what's what

Thats what I like about Crison Editor, is the fact it color codes... 8)

another good HTML editor i used was HTML-kit you might find a little bit of clutter but it's like VB and can finish certain lines for you if i remember correctly

I'm with Toby, Note Pad is great too and an HTML book. Hot Dog 7 is good and can teach you a hew things. Visit Dynamic Drive for free scripts. There are many places that you can get scripts and look at them to understand them.

After looking at them you'll see what's going on. The basic building blocks for a webpage isnt much at all.
