What is the idle tempurature supposed to be for a Athlon 1000 mhz?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+
6 gigs o' Ocz reaper pc6400 (2x1gb 2x2gb)
2x Nvidia 8800GT 512MB Fact. OC'ed

Thanks, I just thought 75º was a little hot but i guess not.

Its hot for todays cpu's... the older cpu's ran alot hotter especially AMD back then

Try a faster fan or check the ventilation to the case.

Its an older case, no fan and the case is full open...put a AMD Athlon 64 fan, not the heatsink, and put it on the 1000's heatsink no difference, but same the heat is hot when you take it off, it is currently at 69º with the original fan and heatsink, fan is going at 5400 RPMS.
