PC Chips chipset ID?

Postby japniz » Tue Jun 04, 2002 3:07 am

:( I've found lots of help - starting, of course, from Motherboard.org - for my generic PC Chips board but nothing I've yet uncovered can tell me the chipset of my TX PRO II. I'm pretty sure the board model is M571 from the support sites visited so far.

The manual I have just says "...a high-end chipset". I think Intel had a TX430 chipset. Would that be the basis of this board?

On the mobo itself, the main chip is covered with a copper-coloured top stamped TX PRO II, so there is no number to research.

Any suggestions would be very welcome from the mobo veterans.

TXPRO II is a relabeled SiS 5597/8 chipset.

Aussie,

Many thanks for that! Where did you get the spec from? Clearly, I missed a site.

I can't link directly to the page but go here:-

http://www.wimsbios.com/

Click on "Award bios ID's" up in the top right corner, when that page loads scroll down to "P1 PC-Chips" and click on the PcChips link. When that page loads click on the "XPRO" link and that will take you to the page containing the info I posted.
