How do I make my image links not have the box outline?

www.hillbilly-clan.co.uk - it's just a start so don't laugh!

Basically opera and IE see it fine, but firefox will put a box that takes the colour of text. Is it because it's in a <p> so I can align it center? I'll check that now.

Should I use the <div> tag instead?

Where you have this in your html for example:
<img alt="forums" src="http://www.hillbilly-clan.co.uk/button_forum.jpg">

Add the "border="0"
<img alt="home" src="http://www.hillbilly-clan.co.uk/button_home.jpg" border="0">

You can either do this from code or through the image properties in whatever html editor app you are using.

Hope that helps. :wink:

If I could be so rude, could I ask for your assisstance onceagain? I have now (aftermuch pain in GIMP) got my buttons loking just right, but how do I make them shrink to fit the page? It looks fine at 1024x768, but if I make the window smaller the buttons fall onto the next line!

Is there a piece of code I can use to make the images fit the page width, but not in a way that just streches the image, but enlarges it.

TIA,
Rob

You'll have to make your div a fixed width. Unless you have mad PHP skills and know how to use ImageMagick (and your server supports it or other on-the-fly image manipulation tools) Then again, I don't really know whether or not that can even do the trick for you. You could try some javascript or PHP to detect browser height/width and have multiple copies of the images at different sizes. When the window is resized, you can poll the window, find out what size it is, and have the browser load the appropriate images.

By the way, I'm just throwing ideas out there, I'm not very proficient with javascript and only minimally so in PHP so I don't know if that could be done, although I would be surprised if it couldn't be done. Easiest to do would be to make your div a fixed width. Less headaches that way :wink:

<TABLE cellSpacing="0" width="90%" border="0">
<TBODY>
<TR>
<TD>
<P><div align="center"><IMG src="Home.jpg" width="20" height="10" border="0"> <IMG src="Contact.jpg" width="20" height="10" border="0"></div></P></TD>
</TR>
</TBODY>
</TABLE>

Add additional button images as needed.
This may work, or some variation of.
