Going through the bios and not using clockgen or other tweaking/oc'ing programs, the hightest stable oc I have been able to achieve is 2.35ghz. This Asus board doesn't allow you to adjust the multiplier or lock the agp/pci so that is a bummer as I believe from all the reading I've done and seeing the results of others that I could reach a higher oc if I had those two options available to me.

Here are the settings:

HTT(Still called FSB in this BIOS) 235mhz

Multiplier X 10

vCore 1.55V

Divider(Memclock to CPU Ratio) 1:1

Temps on the cpu when it is under 100% load remain between 47C to 50C, and at idle, temps will drop to 37C to 40C. I am using a stock hs/f cpu cooler, and Kingston Value Ram @ 3-3-3-8 CAS latency timings with the DDR voltage at 2.6V.

I may be able to reach a higher oc as soon as I get lower CAS latency memory and a better cpu cooler. We shall see.

Well my best so far with my current setup is 9x300Mhz HTT(3x HTT) , 5:4 250Mhz Ram for a nice 2.7GHz, good enough for 31s SuperPi Score to 1M places, but for everyday use I am at 10x250MHz HTT(4X HTT), 1:1
Vcore set to 1.55v
Ram Set to 2.75
Timings are 2.5-3-3-7 1T

Over...

Postby r53s » Fri May 13, 2005 6:54 am

I am not really an overcloker, but the theme is very hot...
I have just built a computer with an Asrock 4145 GV 5.0 mobo
and a northwood 2.26.
Just for play I moved the fsb to 166, and voilá, the speed of
that little thing went to 2.83 G. flawlessly.
It is surprising, all of that at stock voltage and with only one case fan,
temperature only rised about 4 or 5 degrees C.
All stable, as it is running stock, but I went back to 2.26 and consider that 2.83 is a good safety top for this processor...

That was with the P4. Now with the AMD I am running a steady 2.2. I have
gotten up to 2.3, but I can't get any better that that. I tried changing the
RAM/FSB ratio to 8/10 but that did not help. I think that my ram is pretty crappy
