idk if this is going to get that much attention, but whatever.

in the forums, i see so many topics (that have already been answered) that have to do with this vs. that.

AMD vs. Intel
ATI vs. nVidia
IDE vs. SATA
90nm vs. 130nm
DVD+R vs. DVD-R
AGP vs. PCI-E vs. PCI
DDR vs. DDR2
this brand vs. that brand

etc. etc.

should we put a sticky somewhere about all the differences between these two? i think it could really help a lot of people who are not sure about this kind of stuff (i.e. noobs, i remember just starting to learn about this stuff and being very confused)

just my idea. Idea

99.9999% of these types of threads are purely personal opinion.

Exactly! "This is better than that", is all down to personal opinions. If you ask 12 different people the same question, youll still end up with 12 different answers, and its very unhelpful. I do like to see these things debated because then each individual can go away from the discussion with various thoughts and see which best suits their needs and requirements. I think to try and formalise it into a Sticky of "black and white" information is almost impossible, and will without doubt lead to a certain measure of fanboyism which we can well do without.

There are currently 54641 threads on www.motherboards.org/forums. Good luck and god bless to anyone who is silly enough to even try and compile something tangeable.
