I have seen this on many sites. I was wondering when Mobo' would get around to checking them out. I think all the ads should stay site specific, other than that if it will keep the 'Board operational, because most of the regulars have a strong connection here, I'm all for it   |

The only real upset I can see this causing is if for example, a hardcore die-hard AMD fan/user has links to Intel in his/her posts simply by the mention of CPU.
MoboCop, would it be possible to include a written disclaimer within each of the forums especially Tech/General/Recommendations to state that the links are not necessarily endorsed by the individual "poster". Or would this upset the sponsors and defeat the purpose? |

ok to answer a few of them.
I chose not to make the links blue as they would match regular links which could be misleading.
The company to contact is Vibrant Media.
Dont have a list of keywords.
I dont think the disclaimer is really necessary, but I will give it some more time and see what other feedback comes through.

If you give us access to that toggle so that those of us who really don't want to advertise products inside their post don't have to, I'm a happy man.
In return I'll click your most valuable link every time I check in 
I feel I need to repeat this - I fully understand the need to generate revenues to keep this site up but linking my words to products I have no knowledge of, interest in or actively dislike is not something I want to be involved with.
Anyway the toggle sorts this out.

I think you can make them quite outstanding Allbeit not in exactly the same way. Although I think it is important to be able to tell the difference between our links and their links. |
