would be amd xp1800+ (it's at 1.53ghz- increments of 66mhz- i have a 1500+ at 1.333ghz, therefore 3 steps above 1500+ at 66mhz/step+ .198ghz so 1.333ghz + .198ghz= 1.53ghz. newest cpu's are using a bigger jump between cpu's) |

Windows XP is the AOL of operating systems.
XP is good if you can get it to work on yours properly, but Windows 98SE has a better chance of running seamlessly. |

You guys must be high. 98SE is better than Win XP? Is it crack or herion you have been taking?
As far as some of the commons about XP code being terrible and citing security holes. Well I would rather have a few holes and security than no holes and NO security.
The logic of it escapes me. _________________ Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted - Albert Einstien |

Security?
WIN98SE plus Zone Alarm pro, plus a Linksys Router, plus a Dynamic IP address through my ISP. JUST TRY AND HACK ME!
Overall XP is a more secure and reliable Operating System. But that doesn't mean you can't get an WIN 98 machine to the same standard. It might take a few extra programs or hardware like I described above.
But I would love to have a NT based OS, instead of one based on WIN95. However I do enjoy the lack of overhead used by my OS vs XP. For gaming use, WIN98SE is my preferred method of operation.
But hey, decide for yourself here:
