Linksys BEFW11S4 NAT....

Postby NeoGeo » Sun Aug 08, 2004 4:50 pm

I need to know how to disable or bypass the NAT of my linksys router. It is giving me problems when gaming because the internal and external ips are not matching. If someone would walk me through how to do this it would be awesome.
Thanks

I think you have to put it in Router Mode, disabling DHCP...

find out what ports the game your playing runs on. then go into the router configuration and create a VIRTUAL SERVER. this will open a range of ports that you specifie {the ones the game needs to run on}. if you set your self inside the DMZ or disable the firewall of the router your going to be totaly unsecure. if you do indeed do this, download a software firewall like zonealarm {there is a free version} to help protect your self.
good luck

PS. i run a freelacer server and UT2004 server by using the routers virtual server and it works like a champ.
