Well, I did a bit of HTML, all self tought, but I don't remember a lot really, I do still have my first site on my hard drive though!

In my high school career so far, I've learned QBasic and Visual Basic, unfortunatly Semester classes. Next year though I signed up for C++ which will be a lot of fun, and my senior year I plan to take the C++ Object oriented programming. I don't know why that's not part of the first one! :?

As part of my A-Level course this year, I'm gonna be learning (drum-roll please)....

BASIC! The easiest I've ever used, but I haven't really used many. Oh well, should be fun!

Ok, I know this is going to get me into trouble for saying this...

I'm what my friends call an 'old-timer'. Because I do in the old languages what they would rather do in a GUI. But. What's the point of all of the graphics?... It's not necessary just to fill in the blanks?...

It's like putting the engine of a Dodge Viper in your lawn mower to do some edging/weeding...

I know BASIC, Cobol, DOS Batch and HTML. But I don't let it bother me. I enjoy my programming. it's a relaxing thing for me. And I believe I have written some really good programs. :)

I worked / learned on:

Toys -
- Commodore VIC-20 / C64 / Pet 9000
- Radio Shack(Tandy) TRS-80 Model I
- Apple II / IIe

Mains & Minis -
- Hewlett-Packard BASIC/3000
- Hewlett-Packard Cobol II/3000
- IBM 4330/370 OS/VS runnung MUSIC (for Cobol / Basic)

Systems -
- Hewlett-Packard 3000
- Cromemco Mini
- Applied Digital Data Systems (ADDS) Mentor & PC8.
- IBM 4330/370

OS -
- MS-DOS v2.11 - MS-DOS v7.10
- Novell v4.11
- Uni*Verse (a Pick clone)
- Hewlett-Packard MPE IV/3000
- Windows v3.x
- Windows 95, 98, NT 4 & ME.

PC -
- Microsoft QBasic
- Microsoft QuickBASIC 4.0/4.5
- Microsoft BASIC Professional Development System 7.1
- Various PC based Cobol compilers

Misc -
- 3D Unit design and scripting for Total Annihilation (Cavedog Entertainment-1997)
- Computer system/network design and deployment

So. As you can see, I'm not a noobie... I've been at this for at least 25 years... :)

I also forgot to mention, I used to teach small groups in private sessions. And I did consulting for personal/corp for about a decade (late 80's into the latter 90's)...

8) i taught myself machine language on a commodore64 in 1984--even wrote an assembler/disassembler (in basic!) that worked. Hey--i said assembler/disassembler--not a LABELING assembler/disassembler! How was i to know back then about labels? What i have yet to see since then is anything that comes close to an open, honest, discussion about what's REALLY going on inside of a pc or a mac or even ENIAC--every time i find myself in a conversation with someone in this field i get the distinct impression that most of yall would rather be feared than liked. I'm NOT saying that to be mean, it just seems to me that most of the people in this field spend a lot of time and/or money gaining knowledge and have a i'll-be-damned-if-the-next-guy-gets-a-simple-explaination-when-i had-to- shovel-thru-a-mile-of-bs-to-get-there attitude.

Tell me none of you are like that, please!

'Cause if you aren't--man, do i have a lot of things i'd like to ask you!
