And that is what makes it good.
If someone discovers a critical bug, they'll release an update within days. Instead of releasing service packs every 6-12 months.

Oh shucks! Well, MAC's are in many ways better than PC's, we all know that, but unfortunately this forum is for mostly PCs since they have more problems and are more populated.

xp if your system can handle it

Xp pro is the best it solves all the little things that win98 screws up and runs game more efficient. i installed winxp on my amd k62 500mhz 56 ram computer its more stable and solves alot of problems also it has optimzer programs built in so aka you dont have to get dap or gozilla (it has its own acceleraotrs) the only bad thing about it is that it takes too much power to run when i installed xp most my stuff was really slow cuz xp took up the power.

If you have a 1ghz or more computer get xp if slower stick with 98se

Have to say, right now it's hard sell between Win98SE and WinXP. I started with Win98SE, and my friend started with WinME. everything ran supreme on my comp, think had one or two hard boots in two years, and that was worm related...took out my HD. My friend had nothing but problems, especially with games.

I bought WinXP Upgrade to upgrade him to XP, to see if that would help. At the time, it wouldn't. It had just come out, and the initial start up video locked up every time. Was not compatible with the lates nVidia drivers at the time. So, we installed Win98SE on his comp...rock solid, wonder that? All the problems went away, after we found the drivers that, of course, 98 didn't have for his newer comp.

I built my new comp here, and decided to make it WinXP, and as of now, I think it's a fantastic set-up! My mobo is set for fast boot, so I boot up in aboot (ha!) 5 secs. Half-Life runs great under it, now, and so does all my other 3D intense games. The problems XP had were usually with pre-XP games. Only problem I have, is that I have to let my chips warm up or something, cuz if I go straight into Day of Defeat 3.1 (Mod for Half-Life), I crash all the time. If I let things warm up, it's fine.
