Asus ID problems

Postby Harlech » Wed May 22, 2002 4:10 pm

I have friend who I am trying to help (remotely). Am trying to help a firend ID a motherboard so we can flash her to the latest BIOS before we wipe her system and start with a ground-up installation of a fresh OS.

The information she has provided me is as follows:
Bios: Phoenixbios
* Software Build ID: Tortuga3-GA/Cognac3-GA 12NARCKT04

Motherboard chipset: ASUS
* Intel 810E

These are cut and pasted just as she sent them to me...

From this I can puzzle out that this is some flavor of ASUS board with a P810E chipset. I have tried several different resources to ID this board with no luck. Can anyone make out anything from the above information beyond what I have?

Thanks ahead of time,
Harlech

HP machines do usually contain Asus motherboards, but they are never available on the Asus website. They are built OEM by Asus for HP. The only support is going to come from HP.

One interesting note though is that Cognac is a board name used by Trigem.

The page below gives some info with reguards to Belarc Advisor, which could yeild some results:
